Kitty Hawk Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church.

The purpose for which this Church is organized is to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ the Lord of the Church by obeying His command to make disciples and to baptize them (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15).  Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, will be served by the individual members exercising their spiritual gifts, God-given talents, and abilities (1Corinthians 12:1-31; Ephesians 4:11-16).  The principles of the Bible will be maintained to guide the ministry of the Church, which include, but are not limited to missions, evangelism, education, fellowship, prayer, worship, compassion, baptism, and communion (2Timothy 3:16; Acts 1:8; 2:40-47; Matthew 25:31-46).

We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as the Word of God, given by verbal inspiration without error, and that it is the final authority in faith and practice. (2Timothy 3:16; 2Peter 1:20-21)

We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead, that God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 16:16, 28:20; 1John 5:7; John 15:26; 2Corinthians 13:14)

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, that He was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and is true God and true man. (Luke 1:34-35; Hebrews 2:16-17; Matthew 16:16; John 20:28)

We believe in the Atonement of Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitute sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified, based on His shed blood. (John 10:18; 1John 2:2; Romans 3:21-28; Hebrews 9:11-15)

We believe in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, that His crucified body was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures and that He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate. (1Corinthians 15:3-4, 20; Acts 1:9; Hebrews 1:3; 1John 2:1)

We believe in the Sinfulness of Mankind, that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, are totally depraved, and need a Savior from sin. (Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 3:10-18, 23; 5:12-19)

We believe in the necessity of the New Birth, that Salvation is by grace and not works, that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5; John 1:12; 3:3; 1 Corinthians 6:19)

We believe in the Eternal Security of the believer, that all believers who are truly born into the family of God have everlasting life and that it is impossible for them ever to be lost again. (John 3:16; 1John 5:11-13; Romans 8:29-30)

We believe in the Local and Universal Church, that it is the Body and Bride of Christ and is visible as a local self-governing assembly of believers who have been baptized by immersion and that there are only two ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which are administered to all believers. (Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:22-23; Revelation 22:17; Acts 2:40-47; 1Corinthians 11:23-26)

We believe in the Evangelization of the World, that the Great Commission of God’s Church is to proclaim to every person the Gospel: the Good News that sinners can have their sins forgiven and be admitted to Heaven upon death, because of their faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as Savior, and their acceptance of Him through repentance as Lord. (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Ephesians 1:7; Romans 10:9-10, 13; 2Peter 3:9)

We believe in the Second Coming of Christ, that according to the Scriptures, Jesus will return bodily to the earth to establish His kingdom, and in the revelation of future events commonly called The Rapture, The Tribulation, Armageddon, The Millennium, New Heavens and New Earth. (1Thess. 4:13-17; Revelation 7:13-17; 16:12-16; chapters 20-22; Matthew 24:3-31; 2Peter 1:10-11)

We believe in the bodily Resurrection of the Just and Unjust, that the saved go to the everlasting blessedness of Heaven and the lost to an everlasting banishment from the Lord in Hell. (1Corinthians 3:13; 2Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 21:1-8; 20:11-15)

"The world has an inconsolable longing.  It tries to satisfy the longing with accomplishments of creativity, scenic vacations, stunning cinematic productions, sexual exploits, sports extravaganzas, hallucinogenic drugs, ascetic rigors, managerial excellence, etc.  But the longing remains… Beauty has visited us. ‘And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth’ (John 1:14).  How can I not cry, Look! Believe! Be satisfied!"
